Caught Red-Handed

Gavin and I have both talked about eating healthier. I started with a kale and Brussels sprout salad at lunch (which I picked up at a lunch spot that is conveniently located next to the library by my work.) Of course, I picked up some books too.

For our daily juice, Gavin decided to incorporate beets. He’s been inspired to try more fruits and veggies since out trip to Miss Lily’s with his mom a few weeks back.

I’m really happy about this because now when I have juice with Gavin it can
include more things aside from the usual (kale, celery, apples, lemon and the occasional carrot.)

Weekend Wrap-Up

On Saturday, I finally went to the post office to pick up my package Asos. I really like shopping for clothes online but I have to remember to send them to work instead because our USPS folks sometimes can’t get in the building.

In the afternoon, I went for a haircut and Gavin took Milo to the vet. Milo is fine. Really. I won’t go into detail but it was clear there was something wrong. But has medicine now and it way better than he was several days ago.

On Sunday, we hosted a Super Bowl party in our apartment. Gavin’s friends Pete and Suzie came over, along with their friends (whom we’ve met before) and two new friends (we hadn’t met.) Janice came over, too, with a delicious home-made 7-layer cheese dip.

Everyone brought some kind of food and/or drinks. Gavin made lasagna. Oh, and Evie got ice cream and cookies for everyone. It was the typical “American eating holiday” (which makes this the perfect week for a juice cleanse!)
