Yesterday, Gavin and I took a walk around the neighborhood to see what Hurricane Sandy did to where we live. Luckily, we’re in an area that was barely touched by the storm. A lot of people weren’t as lucky, especially in New Jersey. There were some indications, though, that a storm had passed through.
A large piece of metal had fallen by the newspaper stands,
tons of slimy mud lined the streets closest to the river,
a rogue picnic table perched on the outside of the dock,
and a telephone booth fallen over.
It was really cold outside. The storm definitely brought with it the winter temperatures. I hope that the cities affected by the storm are able to get the power back on so that the houses are heated when the temperature gets to be below freezing.
