Chinese New Year

This is the second week in a row that I went to yoga on Tuesday. I also stopped at Lululemon to get a new yoga strap because my other one broke.

After work, my coworkers and I went to dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown called Sing Kee and ate so much food.

This is what the street looked like on the walk back to the subway.

Sunday. Fun.

On Sunday morning, I made french toast for us. Gavin had regular french toast with syrup.

I had whole wheat french toast with blackberry orange compote. Amazing.

Then Gavin and I did something we had been talking about for probably years- organized and sorted his dresser drawers. It was quite the undertaking but the finished product looks great and is very functional.

Gavin picked out the clothes he wears most often and I put those in the drawers. The rest of the clothing went into the closet in less accessible areas. Gavin was so inspired by organizing (this was shocking) that he decided to sort through the hanging clothes in the closet, as well.

The Grammy awards were on that night so we invited Janice over to watch them with us. I tried to recreate the drink I had last night at the bar. The bartender had told me the ingredients: apple juice, ginger syrup, lemon and club soda.

So I first made the ginger syrup with a recipe I found online. Then, once that was done, I put together the rest of the ingredients. It was really delicious.

Luckily, I have a bunch of ginger leftover so that I can recreate this many times over again.

Here’s the recipe I figured out:
– 1 cup apple juice
– 2 tbsp ginger syrup
– 1 slice lemon
– 1/4 cup club soda
